Special Effects Lighting

BEACONS

Our special effects lighting kits are just the thing to make your layout, model vehicle or locomotive come alive. Our "gumball" beacons also look absolutely awesome when installed in static model aircraft and boats. The 1" X 1" circuit board used to create the effects can be easily mounted under the layout near the vehicle, structure or device to be controlled. Its small size permits easy installation not only under a R/R layout but "on board" a train as well. For model cars, the circuit board may be mounted inside the model supporting case.

Each of these devices can be powered with 6-20 volts ac or dc from track power or 12 vac from a Cir-Kit Concepts CK1009B transformer. For short durations, such as in model or diorama contests, a common 9-volt transistor battery can provide power for up to two hours. All come with complete installation instructions.

ROTATING BEACONS
The special electronics in our "gumball" beacons create an impression that they are actually rotating. These devices are not merely flashers, but display brilliant prototypical type action that must be seen to be appreciated.

Small Scale Beacons
The HO and N scale GRS1005 and GRS1011 rotating beacons are each equipped with a tin-plated motor housing and a colored 1.5 volt micro bulb. Normal bulb brightness punctuated by high intensity flashes every second gives an extremely realistic rotating appearance.

Large Scale Beacons
The GRS1005-1 and GRS1011-1 micro liting devices have been developed primarily for the larger S,O and G scale train layouts and for 1/18 and 1/25 scale cars. Both versions are equipped with a tin-plated motor housing and a larger 3.0 volt GOR bulb that closely replicates these scales. Normal bulb brightness punctuated by high intensity flashes every 1 1/2 seconds gives an extremely realistic rotating appearance. The GRS1005-1 comes with a GRS506 red 3.0V GOR bulb and the GRS1011-1 with a GRS507 amber bulb.

DUAL ACTION LITEBARS

Our dual action litebars are aptly named in that each light is independent of the other, thus allowing them to operate in the same fashion as their full-size counterparts. This non-synchronous operation is achieved by the inclusion of one controlling circuit board for each light. In so doing, the litebar achieves a remarkably realistic operation and a truly exciting rotating effect.

Small Scale Litebars

The GRS1008 Litebar kit is designed for HO and N scale vehicle and come with roof-mounted lenses, two circuit boards and a separating siren housing. The lens colors are 2 red and 2 blue.

Two clear 1.5 volt micro bulbs are included, one for each lens. Overall, the "litebar" measures 0.7"L X 0.145"W X 0.15"H. The width of the siren housing can be cut back for narrower vehicles.

Large Scale Litebar Lighting Kit
The GRS1008-4 kit has been developed primarily for large-scale model vehicles with a litebar already attached to the roof. Two clear 3.0 volt GOR bulbs are included, one for each lens. These bulbs provide the extra light needed for the large lenses. As with the preceding litebars, one circuit board is provided for each bulb for a comletely independent and random sequence of light operation.

SLOW FLASHERS

Our range of flasher kits can be used anywhere on a layout where special applications or strobes are required. these devices are extremely flexible for use in animating signs and billboards or creating realistic action in static model planes, boats and autos.

The GRS1001 Small Scale Slow Flasher consists of a 1" X 1" flasher board and two unnattached 1.5 volt micro bulbs. The flash rate of 4 seconds on to 2 seconds off simulates the flash rate used on many billboards, theatre marquees and commercial signs. Use for HO and N scales.

The GRS1001-1 Large Scale Slow Flasher is basically the same as the above but with two 3.0 volt GOR bulbs for use in larger S, O and G scale layouts. The flash rate is 6 seconds on, 2 seconds off.

FAST FLASHERS

The GRS1002 Small Scale Fast Flasher is basically the same as the preceeding GRS1001 but with a faster flash rate of 1 second on and 0.5 second off. This approximates the speed of turn signals, traffic lights and road signals.

The GRS1002-2 Large Scale Fast Flasher is basically same as the preceeding GRS1001-1 but with a flash rate of 1.5 seconds on and 1 second off.

The GRS1006-3 Small Scale Alternating Headlight Flasher, for HO and N scales, consists of a 1" X 1" flasher board and two clear 3.0V micro bulbs to simulate the alternating flashing of modern-day emergency vehicle headlights.

The GRS1006 Large Scale Alternating Headlight Flasher is basically the same as the GRS1006-3 but with larger 3.0V GOR bulbs for use in larger scale emergency vehicle headlamps.

The GRS1006-2 Small Scale Alternating Crossbuck Flasher, for HO and N scales, comes with four red 3.0V micro bulbs, one set for each signal post. Complete instructions are included showing how the bulbs are interconnected between the circuit board and signal posts.

The GRS1006-1 Large Scale Alternating Crossbuck Flasher is basically the same as the GRS1006-2 but with larger 1.5V GOR bulbs for larger scale crossbucks.

TURN SIGNAL FLASHERS

The GRS1002-1 Small ScaleTurn Flasher is basically the same as GRS1002 Fast Flasher but with two amber and two red 1.5 volt micro bulbs for use as HO and N scale vehicle turn signals. Simply install a switch on the model to control the left and right signals.

The GRS1002-3 Large Scale Turn Flasher is basically the same as the GRS1002-1 but with larger GOR size bulbs for 1/25 and 1/18 scale models.

MICRO STROBES

The GRS1003 Small Scale Strobe is basically the same as the GRS1001 Slow Flasher but with a short strobe - like flash every two seconds. The strobe effect is enhanced by the inclusion of two lightly tinted blue micro bulbs that provide a very realistic, pure white-light output. Use as tower warning lights, or as strobes on HO and N scale aircraft, fire trucks, ambulances, police cars and warehouse vehicles.

The GRS1003-1 Large Scale Strobe is basically same as the GRS1003 but with two 3.0 volt GOR bulbs and a strobe rate of once every second. Can also be used for O, G and wide body locos by connecting directly across the motor winding.

GRS1013 - Ultimate Arc Welder

Over the years, many manufacturers have tried to replicate the look of a prototypical arc welder in action. Frankly, most were not very good renditions. Here at GRS, we believe we have really succeeded in creating the Ultimate arc welding simulator. The brilliance, color, and totally sporadic action generated by this new device can only be described as ..... well.... "Spectacular"! In order to make it adaptable for virtually all modeling scales, it features two user controls; one adjusts "the action", and the other the lamp brightness. The unit is completely assembled so absolutely no soldering is required. The welding effect is created by the use of two special "high - intensity", custom-colored, arc blue and arc rose 3-volt GOR bulbs. Complete instructions, lighting tips, and all required installation materials round out this very unique product. Power requirements are 12-20 volts ac or dc.
