CK1054 - Brad Placement Tool

 Add to basketBasket

Over the years, the use of tapewire has become the predominat worldwide method of dollhouse wiring. Its versatility and ease of installation had made it the dollhouse electrician's method of choice. However, to achieve low-profile corners, it is necessary to use tiny 1/8" brass brads to create the necessary electrical interconnection. Although these brads serve this purpose very well, they can be frustrating to hold and install.

That's where our new CK1054 Brad Placement Tool comes in. With this tool the brad can be held firmly in place as it is inserted into the tape run. No more lost brads or blue language. They are manufactured of stainless steel with a plastic coated handle for a lifetime of operation. The CK1054 should be a must for every tape wiring toolbox.

Electronic Lighthouse Beacon

For hundreds of years, lighthouses have served as beacons in the night for both navigators and those lost at sea.  Countless ships and lives were saved thanks to their warning light.  Some, equipped with powerful Fresnel lenses, were visible as far as 25 miles out to sea.  But, with new methods of navigation, many lighthouses have become obsolete and no longer act as lighted sentinels along dangerous shores.

However, the love of this nostalgic era has not vanished.  Today, the popularity of lighthouse collectibles and memorabilia is making this one of the fastest growing hobbies in America. Everything imaginable from "to scale" lighthouse models to monogrammed wearing apparel is now in style.

Until now, a realistic beacon light for the various scales of lighthouse models being manufactured was not available.  Some large-scale lighthouses incorporated motors and gearbox assemblies to actually rotate a light, but these were both expensive and cumbersome.  In addition, this method was not feasible for small-scale structures.

A means was necessary whereby a realistic beacon could be incorporated into lighthouse models of different sizes.  The three lighthouse beacon lighting kits developed by GRS Micro Liting can now provide this ability.

The electronics incorporated into each provides a completely realistic "rotating beam" effect without moving parts or mechanical assemblies.  To simulate this rotating effect, the intensity of the lamp is rapidly ramped up to full brightness and then dimmed gradually, to give the illusion of a rotating beacon.

Many lighthouse models do have permanent on, or flasher-type bulbs, but these do not accurately simulate an actual working lighthouse.  The GRS kits use basically the same electronics, only the bulb size is changed to create the three different scales offered.

The GRS1014 Ultimate Flame Master (UFM) was developed as a "flame" source intermediate between the GRS1000 and GRS1004. It can be used to replicate everything from "breathing coals" in "N" scale to a roaring fireplace in "G" scale. The UFM recreates (in scale proportions) the color and brilliant sporadic action of a real fire. Viewing may be either direct or indirect; you "set the action" and control lamp brightness. This device has the capability of driving up to six of the larger GRS503 3.0v flame color GOR bulbs. Just like our Ultimate Arc Welder, it comes case assembled with action and brightness controls. The kit includes two custom colored flame bulbs, instructions (with lighting tips) and all required installation materials.

All you need do is connect the wires from this unit to a 12-20 volt ac or dc source, tune to an AM radio station for the effect you want, and sit back to enjoy.
